WHAT I THOUGHT OF HUNTINGTON, CALIFORNIA

During the buildup to my stay in Huntington, I mentioned I was staying there for 8 days. A lot of responses were "You're going to be so bored, but you will love it because it's full of younger generation and the kind of party vibe" which, neither of them bothered me but I was keen on checking it out. Now, I stayed in an Air BnB which was roughly 3miles away from the beach, majority of the time I got Lyfts, but I did decide to walk to the beach, around all day and then back one of the days, which I soon realised I was never doing that again.

Honestly though? I actually enjoyed Huntington, it was the first place that I actually felt like I properly belonged. I previously mentioned that I visited Laguna and although it's very pretty and picturesque, the fact I wanted to stay doesn't mean that I would of really fitted in. Huntington however, I was able to meet a few people whilst randomly strolling down the beach and all was very friendly. I admit, when in Huntington I did return to Laguna twice but that was simply to meet people and shoot some more content that I missed out on due to my short time there to begin with.

Funny store: on my last full day in California, I took a trip down to Long Beach and I was there no longer than 20 minutes and I was told to leave by security and police. Reason? I flew my drone about the Queen Mary ship. I put my drone up in the air, no longer than 5 minutes later the security found me and had notified the police, when the police showed up they told me to bring the drone back and asked me a million questions. Once they realised that it wasn't for surveillance but for my photography work, they let me go with a warning but told me that I had to leave Long Beach immediately.

Coming back to Huntington, if you're ever there for whatever reason and you're in need of a good Guinness? Pop down to The Irishman, the owner Ray is from Cork, Ireland and has opened up a small, but cosy pub that has traits of a typical Irish boozer. Plus the bar staff are great, usually either Leah or Vee working, they're both super lovely so tip them nicely.

In Huntington, I also tried Taco Bell for the first time... It was alright, but something I had to experience. Overall, Huntington was actually way better than I was told... Okay fair, I would of liked to have stayed in Laguna for longer and cut the time in Huntington a few days shorter, but I stayed at this lovely house in Garfield, had a massive room and bathroom to myself so I couldn't complain.
