Struggles of black on black

Struggles of black on black

One of the hardest thing that I have found with Zoe is shooting on black, I absolutely adore black on black. Black is life at the end of the day, but with Zoe being so dark and having such a shiny coat, she often just looks…… grey, or white. On top of that, she’s an absolute pain when it comes to studio session, sure she looks like she’s very well behaved in the studio, but realistically….. She’s a nightmare.

What does studio sessions consist of?
A lot of bribing, getting her back to sit down, reposition her and a lot of slobber…… A LOT!

Even if I manage to get Zoe to sit still for more than 5 seconds, is the lighting correct? Is my camera settings correct? Takes a little while to dial it all in but after a few tweaks, we’re good. It’s also super hard for me at the moment because I’m positioned so far away from where Zoe is actually positioned because I’m having to use a 70-200 lens. Yeah, I know….. Over kill when i comes to indoor studio shots, but unfortunately this is currently the only lens I own for the Sony.

But, this is all part of the fun right?
